"If you want to improve the way you speak in public and the way you prepare and present presentation(s), then "Public Speaking with Power and Might" is a MUST! I took the class during the Winter 2006 session and have gained confidence in speaking in front of a live audience. In the past, I kept quiet even when I had something to say. Today, I share my opinions freely with others. The class material is excellent and our instructor, Sister Bessie Jones does a great job teaching, directing and guiding the class on ways to improve our speeches. Sister Jones also shared her own life experiences with the class which is very comforting to me. I have also learned a lot from other students as they shared their experiences"

Hello Ms. Jones,
"Your class on Public Speaking with Power & Might was truly a blessing. I enrolled in the class to strengthen my skills and to gain knowledge on how to properly address an audience as a speaker. My expectations were far exceeded. During the course, I was invited to speak at a freshmen orientation at a local high school. The high school's auditorium was filled with eager students and informed parents. I was nervous, but I remember the techniques that you taught us in class and as a result delivered a brief speech that was both motivational and memorable.
As an entrepreneur, educator and community volunteer, I'm sure that I will have plenty of opportunities to practice what I learned in your class. Now, I am more confident and excited about public speaking. Thank you for demonstrating love, patience and kindness as our class broke through many barriers and we lifted to another level. Also, GOD truly showed up through our prayers and praise. Our lives have truly changed and we are blessed."

"The first time I took "Public Speaking with Power & Might" I was extremely petrified when I had to give my first speech. When it came time for me to step to the lecturn to speak, I could barely catch my breath and my heart was beating so fast I almost didn't give it. But I did. Afterwards, I was relieved and glad I pressed through my fears to give the speech. The class is a warm, comfortable, nurturing environment where you can begin to develop your speaking skills and begin to overcome your fears of public speaking."

Hello Minister Jones,
"I have always been a support person - choosing to stay in the background and shunning the limelight to those who desired to be seen and heard up front. The "Public Speaking with Power and Might" class taught by Minister Bessie Jones teaches that always is a qualitative word which should be used cautiously in describing the attributes of oneself or in addressing the characteristic tendencies of others. This public speaking class that once was regarded as distressful to me became fun, informative, reflective and communicative as fellow classmates shared life and work experiences, testimonies, gifts, trials and triumphs through eight weeks of prayerful and structured teaching strategies that encouraged the weaknesses of the novice to be strengthened and the advocacy skills of somewhat experienced speakers to be even more pronounced. The feeling of fear and distress that I initially had began to dissipate during the first class exercise of simply introducing ourselves to one another and then to the whole class. Nurtured by Minister Jones' prayers for us and textbook supportive Biblical principles, I will always remember this verse quoted many times in the public speaking class and am encouraged to step out of the background to lift my voice for God: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind."

"The class Public Speaking with Power and Might taught at Evongel Cathedral was a rewarding experience [and] life changing for me. Just to mention a few of my accomplishments: I learned to direct my attention to my audience using eye contact and to avoid run-on sentences and word fillers (ie, uh, er). Above all, I learned how to stay focused, therefore keeping my audience focused and attentive. The instructor taught with much excitement and exuberance. It was a blessing to see her professionalism, ______ and inspiration. This was truly beneficial to other students as well."
